My Story

My path to design wasn’t linear. It ran through philosophy classrooms, café counters, and martial arts gyms — all places where I learned to observe people. In philosophy, I discovered how humans reason. As a barista, I saw how they connect. And through MMA, I understood how they react under stress. Design, in a way, became the natural intersection of all three.

Today, I bring those lessons into my work at one of Canada’s Big 5 banks, where I design digital tools that simplify complex workflows and empower teams to focus on what matters. From risk-rating dashboards for AML analysts to portfolio workspaces for relationship managers, I focus on clarity, flow, and the small interactions that make a system feel effortless.

Outside of work, I mentor early-career designers and encourage them to lean into what makes them curious. Because design, like martial arts, rewards patience, presence, and practice — and I’m still learning both, every day.
